It is estimated that by 2022, companies will spend more than $1 billion a year on copper and fiber-optic cables that transmit data and power. Recently, Allied Market Research (Allied Market Research) analyzed the company's forecast.

This data covers the cost of fiber and copper cables used to connect LAN and data center nodes.

Wireless networks are now moving toward higher bandwidth, and computing tasks that were previously only handled on desktop computers are now using mobile devices. However, the cost of fiber and copper cables continues to increase.

Wired Ethernet cable spending increased at a rate of 14.3%. The joint company said that the increase in the number of IoT connections, the development of data centers, and the emergence of Power Ethernet (PoE) systems, the combination of the two means that companies have to spend on cables.

These consumption growth is mainly from China. China's technology industry is expanding rapidly, and investment in data centers will drive demand for optical network cables. The entire Asia Pacific market is expected to account for 35% of global cable spending.

Europe is also seen as a large market, especially in the industrial sector in Europe, where the growth of electrical connections means greater networks and demand for cables. In traditional network environments such as offices, the emergence of PoE technology will also help drive the healthy development of network cable demand.

As a result, the Joint Analysis Company predicts that spending will rise over the next six years and will exceed $22 billion by 2020. However, the joint company also pointed out that the cost and limitations of cable installation in cable networks are its traditional shortcomings, and this shortcoming will still hinder the development of the market.
